Ivan Anatolyevich Kovalenko is a painter who graduated from the Lviv Institute of Art in 1956, where he studied under N. Bendrik and V. Lyubchik. He began his career as an impressionist painter, later turning to the traditions of the "grand academic style" and creating a series of epic paintings on historical themes. Throughout his career, he held 25 solo exhibitions in the USSR and abroad (France, Germany, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania). His works are held in the collections of the Kyiv Art Museum, as well as museums in Donetsk, Mariupol, Yalta, Rostov, and Chernihiv.
