Klychev Izzat Nazarovich

Izzat Nazarovich Klychev (born 1923) is a Soviet painter, People's Artist of the USSR, and corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. In 1953, he graduated from the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (B. V. Ioganson's studio), and from 1954 to 1958, he worked in the creative studio of the USSR Academy of Arts in Leningrad under A. M. Gerasimov. He is known for his genre paintings depicting Soviet Turkmenistan, portraits, and still lifes. In 1967, he was awarded the USSR State Prize for the series 'My Turkmenistan'. From 1962 to 1965, he served as Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of the Turkmen SSR. He has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War (2nd class), and various medals.
