Ivanov Sergey Vasilyevich

1864 — 1910
Sergey Vasilyevich Ivanov (1864–1910) was a painter, graphic artist, and educator. He is the author of well-known paintings such as "On the Road. Death of a Migrant", "Execution", historical works like "Arrival of Foreigners in 17th Century Moscow", and illustrations for the works of M. Y. Lermontov. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under V. G. Perov, I. M. Pryanishnikov, and E. S. Sorokin. He became an Academician in 1905. He taught at the Stroganov Art and Industrial School and the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Between 1907 and 1910, he created a series of 18 historical paintings for the I. N. Knebel publishing house, which served as educational aids for Russian history.
