Khrutsky Ivan Fomich

Ivan Fomich (Trofimovich) Khrutsky (1810–1885) was a painter known for his still lifes, portraits, and interiors. Before 1829, he studied under D. Dawe in St. Petersburg and received guidance from I. Oleshkevich. From 1830 to 1838, he studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts under A. G. Varnek. In 1838, he was awarded a small gold medal for his paintings 'Flowers and Fruits' and 'Portrait of an Old Woman,' and received the title of non-ranked artist for his achievements in landscape painting. In 1839, he was named an academician for his still-life work.
