Glushchenko Nikolai Petrovich

Nikolai Petrovich Glushchenko was a Ukrainian and Soviet painter and a Soviet intelligence officer. He was named a People's Artist of the USSR in 1976. Glushchenko studied at the Hans Baluschek School in Berlin and later at the Berlin Higher School of Fine Arts from 1920 to 1924. In 1925, he moved to Paris, where he was influenced by French Impressionists. By the early 1930s, he had developed a distinct style characterized by impressionism, a subtle sense of decorative color expression, and freedom of form. While he worked in various genres, landscape was his preferred subject. His works are held in numerous Ukrainian and international museums and private collections.
