Fomin Pyotr Timofeevich
1919 — 1996
Pyotr Timofeevich Fomin was a Russian painter, People's Artist of the USSR, and corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. He graduated from the I. E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1952) in the studio of V. M. Oreshnikov. From 1953, he taught at the Repin Institute and became a professor in 1971. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Leningrad Union of Artists (1972–1975). He was an author of paintings on historical-revolutionary themes, landscapes, and portraits. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and medals of the USSR.
