Epifanov Gennady Dmitrievich

Gennady Dmitrievich Epifanov was a Soviet graphic artist, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Arts, and a professor. In 1930, he graduated from the Leningrad VKhUTEIN, where he studied under V. M. Konashevich and D. I. Mitrokhin. From 1951 to 1973, he headed the graphic department at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, and from 1973 to 1982, he taught at the I. E. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. He was a laureate of international book art exhibitions in Leipzig (1959, 1972) for his illustrations to Homer's 'Odyssey'.
