Cheptsov Efim Mikhailovich

Efim Mikhailovich Cheptsov (1874–1950) was a painter and Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He studied at the Higher Art School under the Imperial Academy of Arts under V. E. Savinsky and V. E. Makovsky. In 1912–1913, he was a scholarship holder of the Academy of Arts in France and Italy. He was actively involved in teaching in Leningrad (AKhRR studio, INZhSA) and Moscow (V. P. Potemkin Moscow State Pedagogical Institute), receiving the title of professor in 1938. His work primarily focused on genre scenes from Soviet rural life and portraiture.
