Yuri Ivanovich Semenyuk is a painter and a public figure. People's Artist of the RSFSR. Chairman of the Board of the Yaroslavl Union of Artists of Russia. Diploma holder of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR, Council of Ministers of the RSFSR, CC RSFSR. Honored Artist of the RSFSR, member of the Union of Artists of Russia. He was born in the village of Zavalino, Yuriev-Polsky district, Vladimir province. In 1941 he graduated from the Yaroslavl Art College. Teachers - Y.M. Druzhinina, P.S. Sourdough. Immediately after graduating from college in the summer of 1941, Yuri Semenyuk was drafted into the army, underwent accelerated training at the Podolsk Artillery School, evacuated to Bukhara, and was released with the rank of lieutenant. He worked as a graphic designer at the 1st mechanical plant (now JSC Polymermash), then he was invited to the Yaroslavl Association of Artists, which was later transformed into a branch of the Art Fund. He became involved in the creative life of the team, in the work on paintings, began to participate in art exhibitions, worked a lot on location. Author of themed landscapes and still lifes, including: "The Construction of the Volga Bridge" (1967), "The Past of Northern Russia" (1974), "Today is a Holiday in Russia" (1975 - YAKHM), "The Tale of the Russian Birch" (1990). Together with his fellow artists, he went on creative trips to the northern regions of Russia (the series "Across Northern Russia"). Participant of more than 300 regional, zonal, regional, republican, All-Union, foreign and international exhibitions. His works are in more than 40 museums and art galleries in Russia, including the collection of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the USSR (Moscow), in museums in Yaroslavl, Kaliningrad, Kiev, Nizhny Novgorod, Lipetsk, Amursk, Belgorod, Blagoveshchensk, Krasnoyarsk, and in many Russian and foreign private collections. One of the most important achievements in the social activities of Yuri Ivanovich Semenyuk was the opening of an Artist's House in Yaroslavl, in the creation of which he was directly involved.
