Chernetsov Grigory Grigoryevich

1802 — 1865
Grigory Grigoryevich Chernetsov was a painter known for his portraits, landscapes, and interiors. He studied at the Academy of Arts from 1819 to 1827 under S. F. Galaktionov and A. G. Varnek. In 1827, he received a small gold medal from the Society for the Encouragement of Artists for his painting "View of the Military Gallery in the Winter Palace" and was awarded the title of class artist. He became an academician in 1831 for his painting "View in the Vicinity of St. Petersburg." He traveled along the Volga and abroad.
