Romadin Nikolai Mikhailovich

Nikolai Mikhailovich Romadin was a Russian Soviet painter, graphic artist, and master of landscape painting. He was a Full Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, a People's Artist of the USSR, and a People's Artist of the RSFSR. He was also a recipient of the Lenin Prize, the Stalin Prize (second degree), and the I. E. Repin State Prize of the RSFSR, as well as a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
He studied at the Samara Art College, and later in Moscow at Vkhutemas/Vkhutein under R. R. Falk, I. I. Mashkov, and A. D. Drevin. From 1929, he was a member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia (AKhRR) and was affiliated with the ROST group of young artists. He began exhibiting in 1931. During the 1930s, he primarily painted genre scenes, while from 1938 onward, lyrical landscapes became his principal subject matter.
Romadin's works are held in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the State Historical Museum, and museums in Khabarovsk, Cheboksary, Minsk, Donetsk, and other cities, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
