Gagarin Alexander Gavrilovich

1908 — 1980
Alexander Gavrilovich Gagarin was an artist who studied at the studio of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (1936–1939) under T. A. Kalashnikov and A. V. Fadeev. He had been actively participating in exhibitions since 1937. In the 1950s, he organized the Kaluga branch of the Union of Artists and served as its first chairman. He is the author of works such as 'Uprising of the Romodanovsky Peasants', 'Phlox', 'View of the New Outskirts of Kaluga', 'Autumn Study', and a series of portraits of Honored Doctors of the RSFSR. His works are represented in the collections of the Kaluga Regional Museum of Fine Arts and the Kaluga Museum of Local Lore.
