Pryanishnikov Illarion Mikhailovich
1840 — 1894
Illarion Mikhailovich Pryanishnikov (1840–1894) was a painter, educator, and master of the genre scene. From 1856 to 1866, he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (MUZhVZ) under S. K. Zaryanko and E. S. Sorokin. In 1870, he received the title of Class Artist of the 1st degree for his paintings "Kaliki Singing the Song of Lazarus" and "The Seamstress." From 1873 to 1894, he taught at the MUZhVZ. He was a full member of the Academy of Arts (since 1893) and a founding member of the Peredvizhniki (Society for Traveling Art Exhibitions).
