Podgursky Viktor Stepanovich

1893 — 1969
Viktor Stepanovich Podgursky (1893–1969) was a painter, monumentalist, and educator. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1914–1918). In 1920, he emigrated to Shanghai, where he was actively involved in teaching at art institutes and the Art Club, as well as working on building decorations and monuments (notably a bust of A. S. Pushkin). In 1947, he returned to the USSR and taught at the Kazan Art School until 1956.
